Karnataka By-Election Predictions: Who Will Win the Three Key Seats?

There was a vacuum created in Karnataka after the resignation of three MLAs: Basavaraj Bommai, Kumaraswamy, and E. Tukaram. The Karnataka by-elections were held on September 13th, and the results will be announced on November 23rd. Everyone is now focused on Karnataka, and there is a big discussion surrounding the state’s politics. Both the NDA and Congress are doing their own calculations.

Strong speculation suggests that the NDA will secure two seats in the Karnataka assembly, while the ruling Congress party will win one seat. According to exit poll predictions, the BJP and JDS candidates are expected to win in Channapatna and Shiggavi, while Congress is likely to win in Sandur.

In Channapatna, Nikhil Kumaraswamy, a JDS candidate, is contesting against senior Congress leader C.P. Yogeshwar. In Shiggavi, Bharat Bommai, the son of Basavaraj Bommai, is running against Congress’s Yasir Ahmed Khan. C.P. Yogeshwar, who was previously with the BJP, switched to Congress just before the elections. He has a reputation for changing parties frequently. In Sandur, BJP’s Bangara Hanumanta will face Congress’s E. Annapurna, who is the wife of Ballari MP E. Tukaram.

The overall voter turnout in Karnataka was 81.84%, with Channapatna recording a high turnout of 88.48%. The election was conducted peacefully, but the campaign in Channapatna was particularly thrilling due to the movie fan base of the two leading candidates.

Congress was expecting victories in all three constituencies, but the NDA also had similar expectations. However, exit polls predict that the NDA will win two seats, while Congress will win one. In the end, we’ll have to wait and see how the voters of Karnataka cast their votes.
