Bureau of Civil Aviation Security New Rule for Air Travelers: A new rule has been implemented regarding luggage for the convenience and safety of air travelers. The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) has introduced new regulations, specifically concerning hand luggage. There has always been a rule that limits the amount of luggage a passenger can carry while traveling by air; however, a new rule has now been added.

Below is a list of the new rules:

Number of bags: According to the new rule, air passengers will now be allowed to carry only one bag inside the cabin. This rule applies to both domestic and international flights.

Weight allowed: The weight of the bag should not exceed 7 kg. The size of the cabin bag must be limited to 55 cm in height, 40 cm in length, and 20 cm in width. For economy class ticket holders, the luggage limit will be 8 kg, while those who booked premium economy tickets will be allowed up to 10 kg. First class or business class passengers will be allowed to carry luggage weighing up to 12 kg.

However, passengers who booked their flight tickets before May 2, 2024, will be exempt from the new regulations.

It is advisable for travelers to carry bags with lighter weights from home to avoid last-minute hassle at the airport. Additionally, hazardous materials, tape, matches, knives, and other sharp objects are prohibited from being brought on board.
